The funding you need to make your program exceptional.
To assist you in your quality improvement efforts, financial support may be available. Different levels of funding are based on your level of support and your progress along the way.
Depending on where you are in your quality improvement journey, funding can be used to purchase educational materials, equipment and other resources that help improve the quality of your program. Some programs buy age-appropriate books, toys or materials to help with their kids’ development. Others purchase new furniture or outdoor equipment to enhance their facility. Some programs qualify for funding to focus on staff recognition.

Financial Support for your Program
How you use your funding will be decided in partnership with your coach according to your Quality Improvement Plan. The financial support and incentives available to Quality First participants vary based on your star rating and may not include all components listed here:
Materials, equipment and facility improvements
If your program has a specific need for additional learning materials, equipment or furnishings, funds can be used to purchase these items. Facility improvement projects like adding shelving, cement slabs, fencing, painting or carpet installation are also eligible.
Consultation and specialized services
If you need to hire a trainer for specialized needs that are unique to your program, funds can be used to offset these costs.
Professional development
Funds may be set aside to provide professional development opportunities for staff. These opportunities include paying registration and travel expenses for staff to attend regional and national conferences or professional development, online trainings, purchasing professional development materials or becoming a member of an early childhood organization.
Staff recognition
You may be eligible for funding to recognize staff for quality achievement. Funds will support recognition and appreciation of staff through a variety of ways.
Quality First Scholarships
Early care and education providers enrolled in Quality First may be eligible to offer Quality First Scholarships, which help low-income families with children birth to age 5 afford quality child care.
